WHAT WE DO

Hang on and get ready to grow while being challenged, and motivated. This session focuses on re-training your thoughts and habits to help you reach goals. I never like to listen to boring lectures, speakers, or presenters so I make it a point never to be one. I engage you in a way that is effective, simple to follow, and that will challenge you to see your obstacles differently. My formula for success, no matter what the goal, includes having a Vision, Planning for that vision and Executing it! This presentation also includes how to apply the same principles of successful business moguls to your everyday life.

The Eye of the Mentor Training
I created "The Eye of the Mentor Staff Training" in 2006 after recognizing the need for teachers and youth service providers to have a working knowledge of where the behavior and issues occurring in their schools come from. Spending years working for various youth service agencies, I began to notice an enormous disconnect between the life many students experience and the instructors that were leading them. In 2009 I published my 2nd book, "The Eye of the Mentor: Hip to the Game to give training participants an accompanying guide they could take home to work on the concepts of the training. We stand on the premise that if you know where the behaviors are coming from, then you are better able to stop them before they happen. For some students, many of the expectations of school are in complete opposition to the lifestyle they have to live in order to navigate their daily home life. Together we will help you develop the simple understanding of :
-
Why students feel fighting is a viable option to problem solve.
-
How I, as a youth service provider from a totally different background, understand and meet them where they are.
-
How music and popular culture change the environment of your classroom.
-
The psychology of gangs as well as signs, symbols, and activity to look for.
